Re-In-States

Since my return to this place (home) that I (and many others) call Seattle, I have not posted a single (or multiple) entry to this journal (thought recorder). But this morning, I awoke (and then fell back to a tossing sleep) to a text message from my good friend Mike Jeppesen (www.bootstrapjuicebox.com) from all the way (very very far away) in Rome. This led me (through a chain of events described soon after) to directly visit the aforementioned website (thought recorder) and realize that this blog was not merely meant for distant keeping-up, but also for exercising my writing muscles (fingertips).

What a morning.

As I hopped frantically out of bed to help Laura (one-legged) down the stairs, there was a cat named Dash (he's OK outside) sitting by the door. Makes me think of Doctor.
Jenna begins packing for her trip to Boston. Makes me think of packing. Mike is texting me from Rome. Makes me think of Europe. Heather is coming back (to Los Angeles). Makes me think of coming back. Sara on her facebook (overused thought recorder) plans a trip to Europe. Makes me think of Europe. Makes (me) think of Europe.

Why this is all (not so ) interesting is how it all (instinctively) fits together. How it all has to do with my (not) writing. I came home from Europe so that i could write (which is why I claim I went there in the first place). Most of the writing I have done in the past eight months happened in the first two on this blog (thought recorder). The last (good) play I wrote was before I left, and makes me think of Texas (where my cat resides). A year ago (from two days ago) is when my other two plays opened. On that day we had a readthru for the next play that will be produced (by Stone Soup).

WHY am I not writing?!

The i-ron-y of course being that I am writing. currently. now.

Maybe in the next week (and a half) I will be so bored with Jenna being gone that I can begin (or think about beginning) writing a new play.

Or at least I will begin (though I've already began, as you can see) posting (thought recording) here (on the web) again (as it has been six months since my last).
